Noosa River Weekly Fishing Report

Noosa River Weekly Fishing Report

It’s not always the size of the catch that counts as Riley from England looked pretty pleased with this nice 26cm bream that had him smiling for the rest of the day.

The weather is looking awesome over the Christmas break and we wish you all a very merry one. The fishing is looking ok too with flathead, whiting and bream the most dominant species about through most of the NoosaRiver.

The lower reaches were a little quiet with so much boating activity and clear water but still produced whiting, bream and flathead at the river mouth with the odd tailor too. Whiting are active on live worms and yabbies at the Frying Pan and Woods Bay along with some tarwhine and flathead.

The back of Noosa Sound and Weyba Creek is worth a try for bream, flathead and some estuary cod with the odd nice whiting about on the sand flats. Noosaville reaches is worth a try for bream mostly, whiting and the odd flathead but I would head up river to the dirtier water before the car ferry for bigger whiting and flathead on the sand banks and bream in the deeper parts.

The entrance of Lake Cooroibah is good fishing too and there are a few jacks active there as well as between the top lakes into the evening.

Don’t forget to take a couple crab pots as there are some big muddies about too.

The weather is looking great for the next week with just a possible shower into the weekend. With so many people about keep an eye out and safe boating.

Until next week good luck from the boys at O Boat Hire.
