Noosa River Weekly Fishing Report- 11/11/14

Now that’s a nice 69cm flatty caught by Dominic from Melbourne when up on holidays fishing on the Noosa Fishing and Crab Adventure tour this Monday. He caught it using a live herring.

Another productive week’s fishing with many reports of flathead, bream and some trevally caught inside the river mouth. Good sized whiting to 40 plus cm are being landed at the Frying Pan, dog beach, Woods Bay, Munna beach through the Noosaville reaches and right up to Lake Cooroibah.

The odd healthy estuary cod are up Weyba creek and the back of Noosa Sound in the deeper holes and around snags and with lots of herring schooling up throughout the lower reaches and up to the first lake there are some big predators on the prowl too. So well worth taking the throw net to gather some livies and try your luck with a floated out live fish and no sinker.

Up between the top two lakes it’s well worth a try at night or early mornings for a few mangrove jack or school jew on live bait also. Otherwise live worms or yabbies are fishing best for whiting, bream and flathead or prawns if you don’t have any.

The odd good sized mud crab are getting about and a few sand crabs still so well worth setting a few pots while you’re out fishing.

Just partly cloudy until t5he weekend where it looks like a hot one with some wind Saturday so best to keep to the calm waters of  Noosa River and stay safe.

Until next week good luck from the boys at O Boats.
Regards Rod
