17 Feb Noosa River Weekly Fishing Report
Janine said she had a great day out on the Noosa Fishing and Crab Adventure boat. Up from Adelaide she really enjoyed the scenic beauty of Noosa River and landed this nice 41cm for dinner to top it off.
Fishing was a bit hit and miss last week however with the new moon and big 2.2m high tides this week we should see some better activity.
The river mouth is always good for a few flathead, bream and odd tailor whilst the Frying Pan and Dog beach has whiting, bream and flathead on the bite.
The Woods Bay should be worth a go for flathead and bream also and a few good trevally prowling about. The back of Noosa Sound in the deeper holes has some action on Jacks into the night and bream and trevally during the day.
Weyba Creek has plenty of action on bream, flathead and estuary cod with a few whiting in the shallows. The Noosaville reaches are worth trying on the sand flats for whiting, bream and flathead on live worms or yabbies.
The Tewantin ski run through to the car ferry is producing flathead, whiting and grunter bream also with a chance of landing the odd school jew or threadfin salmon. The mouth of Lake Cooroibah and channel has plenty of grunter bream, whiting and flathead about with several other possibilities that could grab the line.
There are lots of blue swimmers running in Lake Weyba so take some pots with you. There is some rain forecast for the end of the week, otherwise just the odd shower and lots of extended sunny skies in between. The weekend is looking great so don’t forget so slip, slop slap and be courteous to other boaties.
Until next week good luck from the boys at O Boats.
